ARC Review: Fracture

Eleven minutes passed before Delaney Maxwell was pulled from the icy waters of a Maine lake by her best friend Decker Phillips. By then her heart had stopped beating. Her brain had stopped working. She was dead. And yet she somehow defied medical precedent to come back seemingly fine -despite the scans that showed significant brain damage. Everyone wants Delaney to be all right, but she knows she's far from normal. Pulled by strange sensations she can't control or explain, Delaney finds herself drawn to the dying. Is her altered brain now predicting death, or causing it?
Nancy's Review:
I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about this book when I first picked it up. Yet, as soon as I started reading it, I could not stop. It was amazing. Megan Miranda instantly grabbed my attention when she began describing the sensation of drowning in ice cold water that Delaney (the main character) experienced. It was so vivid, I was impressed. I could feel myself being pulled under the water along with her. From then on, it just kept getting better. There was some romance in the book, not the sickening lovey dovey type, but more than that. The story really makes you think about what it is that makes us human and makes you dig deep inside yourself searching for the same answers that Delaney is looking for. It was a wonderful read. It was attention-grabbing, thought-provoking, and just plain awesome!
